Are you a media professional building a story around water quality, river health and the Triwaters Expedition?
The Triwaters team thanks you for your interest!
Just a quick refresher… The line from the source of the Vaal River to the ocean via the Orange River is the largest continuous water body within the borders of South Africa, coveringa distance of more than
2 500 kilometers. In January 2015 three adventurers, Troy Glover (Canada), Brett Merchant (Australia) and Franz Fuls (South Africa), will follow this line from the source of the Vaal River close to Breyten in Mpumalanga to the mouth of the Orange River at Alexander Bay in the Northern Cape. The team will be engaging with local communities on river conservation, with a focus on education and biodiversity.
We have found that when environmental issues are discussed, there tends to be an international tendency towards bias. The Triwaters Team feels very strongly about disseminating accurate information, and are not afraid to call a spade a spade.
We also acknowledge the many stakeholders along the Vaal and Orange Rivers. This is a highly diverse group relying on the river for their existence and prosperity, and includes riverside communities, ag- riculture, science, conservation bodies, adventure companies and tourism operators, the hospitality industry, and the manufacturing & mining sectors. It also includes most people and businesses in the Gauteng Province (South Africa’s Economical heartland. It is important to us to assist media profession- als in creating well informed stories and reports, not only concerning Triwaters, but, importantly, also the stakeholders.
Triwaters therefore proudly shares the following information with you, simplifying your quest for rel- evant information and opinions to round off your well informed, balanced stories and opinion pieces around river health and water quality on the Vaal and Orange Rivers:
